Parishes from across the Archdiocese of Detroit will be witnessing to the power of God’s Mercy during the Fifth Annual Mercy in Action Service Day on Saturday, October 16th! This event, hosted by individual vicariates and parishes at multiple locations, brings together thousands of volunteers who courageously engage in the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy!
Here are ways you can participate in the Mercy in Action Day of Service
September 20—October 11
Parishes in the North Macomb Vicariate will be collecting for DRAW, new 5 gallon buckets (with lids) and items to fill the buckets with. DRAW delivers buckets filled with much needed supplies to families facing the aftermath of storms, floods, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. When homes are destroyed, people need everything and many things are scarce such as bathroom and cleaning supplies. The buckets distributed by DRAW help people take care of themselves and help them salvage what they can of their belongings. Items on the SS. John and Paul “bucket list” include:
Bucket List: 5 gallon bucket with lid, Sponges with scrub side,. Scrub brush, Handi wipes (reusable cloths, 8-12 count), Liquid laundry detergent (25 or 50 oz. bottle), Household cleaner (12-16oz bottle) no spray bottles, Dish soap, Clothes line (50ft), Microfiber clean rags and Clean cotton rags

The Mass – A Biblical Walk Through
Discover the beauty, the riches, and the profound meaning of the Mass. Everything we say and do in the Liturgy is steeped in biblical language. A Biblical Walk Through the Mass explores the extraordinary biblical roots of the Liturgy and reveals what it all means and why it all matters. This fascinating tour of the Mass will renew your faith and deepen your love for and devotion to the Holy Eucharist. “We need to recommit ourselves to the central act of our faith with passion and joy. This marvelously written aid will help us join ourselves to the Lord as he offers himself to the Father in the Sacrifice of the Mass.”

Our 2021 Catholic Services Appeal is underway at SS. John & Paul Parish. Thank you for your previous generous donations to SSJ&P. We are continuing to use CSA to help fund our current operating deficit and infrastructure projects planned for 2021-2022. Please prayerfully consider increasing your donation to help make us an Amazing Parish! The Archdiocese has already sent letters and forms to many of you. The campaign is using a Minnesota company to process gifts, however, you may wish to drop your gift/pledge at the parish office and we can forward them on for you. You may also donate to CSA by way of our parish website at Home Page (osvonlinegiving.com). A reminder to those still paying 2020 CSA pledges, you have until May 29th to do so. God Bless You and Thank you.
