Electronic Recycling Day April 24

“Care for God’s Creation” is one of the 7 themes of Catholic Social Teaching.  We are called to protect people and the planet, it is a requirement of our faith.  In response to this calling,  SS. John and Paul is giving people in the community the opportunity to make a difference by hosting an electronic recycling day.  From 10am until 2pm on Saturday, April 24th, you can drop off your electronic waste. Free will donations accepted.    Computers, small appliances, batteries, cameras, and printers are some of the many items that can be dropped off this day.

Click here for a flyer with a complete list of accepted items.  Please pass along this information to anyone in the community who you think might be interested.

Christian Service Day March 13

The North Macomb Vicariate Lenten project for this year is “Blessings for Baby”.  We will come together on this day to collect baby items for the Agape Center pantry to support local families in need.

Items requested:   diaper wipes, diapers (size 5 & 6), and baby wash

Just bring any of these items to our parish on March 13 between the hours of 9:30am and 12pm.  Volunteers will be available to accept your donation.

 Thank you for your generosity!

Vicariate Lenten Mission, March 14 – 16

In a time where there is so much uncertainty, fear, and suffering, Christ’s call to all of us as His disciples is to be rooted in the promise of His grace and go forth in boldness to bring His love and presence to everyone around us. This three day vicariate mission will give us all encouragement and wisdom on how to tap into that boldness in Christ, in hard times and those of victory and rejoicing as well. Join in person or via livestream. Daily Mass will also be livestreamed from St. Francis/St. Maximillian Parish on March 15 & 16. See  the Vicariate Mission website for more details.

Stations of the Cross Using Body Movement, March 20

Join us Saturday, March 20th at 10am in the large social hall, for a Lenten experience using prayer, readings, art, and body movements to enter into the Stations of the Cross.  All levels of fitness will be honored, movements can be modified so that everyone can enter prayer.  Bring a mat and water bottle.  Dress in comfortable clothes that stretch.  Masks must be worn throughout this program.  Six feet of space will be kept between participants to promote safety.

There will be no charge for this program.  We will be taking up a free will donation to benefit SS. John and Paul’s Parish Circle of Support and Strangers No Longer.

G.R.A.C.E. programs online only

The decision was made to no longer offer in-person GRACE Formation. Our program will be remote from now until further notice. Between the governors announcement, the high number of COVID cases in Macomb county, we felt that it would be irresponsible to continue in person at this time. We will update you if anything changes.

Guidelines for Mass

Public Masses have resumed.   In the interest of safety and to facilitate disinfection of the church between Masses, the schedule will be as follows:

Tuesday and Wednesday at 9am
Saturdays at 5pm
Sundays at 9:30am and 11:30am
Mondays at 7pm

Although measures have been taken to ensure the safety of those attending, understandably some may wish to remain at home.  Please note that all the faithful in the Archdiocese of Detroit are dispensed from their Sunday obligation to attend Mass until Ash Wednesday, February 17.  We will be streaming Mass Sundays at 11:30am on Facebook Live.

For everyone’s safety, please observe the following:
