Supporting our Parish

We are grateful for the many ways that parish members support SS. John and Paul, giving their time, talent and treasure to help this parish live out its mission and ministry in the name of Jesus Christ.

The parish thrives because of the generosity of its members. We ask that people give according to their ability. Because your contributions are used to establish the yearly operating budget, the parish depends on consistent giving. The Pastor, finance council and pastoral council strive to be good stewards of the gifts we are given, and work collaboratively to accomplish the priorities of the parish.

Weekly Envelopes

Registered households receive Sunday and special offering envelopes every two months in the mail.

Online Banking

Online banking is done through your bank’s website. Just follow the online banking instructions designating SS. John and Paul as the payee and your envelope number as the payee ID. The bank mails a check to the parish as often as you designate. If you choose this option please contact the office so that you stop receiving envelopes.

Online Giving

We have set up a secure Online Giving Website with Our Sunday Visitor, which allows you to make contributions without writing checks or worrying about cash donations. It offers families flexible, paperless ways to contribute to C.S.A., the offertory, special collections, one time gifts, and more. If you choose this option please contact the office so that you stop receiving envelopes.  For more information, click here.

Electronic Sunday Offering

Electronic Sunday Offering transfers funds from your bank account to the parish account. You choose the amount and whether you prefer to have it deducted on the 15th or 30th of a month. You can add holy day and other specific donations as well. You can change it at any time. Click here to download the form or contact the Parish Business Manager.

Bequests/Wills

Please consider including SS. John and Paul Parish in your will. Gifts of cash, stocks, bonds, and real estate can be accepted by the parish. If you have questions about this, please contact the Parish Business Manager.

Catholic Services Appeal

This yearly appeal each May provides the largest source of funds to support the work and offices of the Archdiocese of Detroit. Each parish has a mandatory target that must be reached, otherwise the difference is made up from the operating budget. All monies help the parish 100%. No diocesan “tax” is taken out of these donations. Contributions made that exceed our target are returned to the parish 100% for its own use.

Year-End Donations

If you are would like to make an extra charitable gift to the parish, year end donations are a good way to do it as these gifts are not included in C.S.A. target calculations.

Christmas Collection

The Christmas collection is not taxed by the diocese. That means that all monies stay in the parish for its own use. However, since the Christmas collection is factored into the calculation for C.S.A. mandatory targets, we recommend simply a usual Christmas gift and then give anything extra or significant either in a Year-End donation or the spring C.S.A. donation.
