Parishes from across the Archdiocese of Detroit will be witnessing to the power of God’s Mercy during the Fifth Annual Mercy in Action Service Day on Saturday, October 16th! This event, hosted by individual vicariates and parishes at multiple locations, brings together thousands of volunteers who courageously engage in the Corporal and Spiritual Works of Mercy!

Here are ways you can participate in the Mercy in Action Day of Service
September 20—October 11

Parishes in the North Macomb Vicariate will be collecting for DRAW, new 5 gallon buckets (with lids) and items to fill the buckets with. DRAW delivers buckets filled with much needed supplies to families facing the aftermath of storms, floods, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. When homes are destroyed, people need everything and many things are scarce such as bathroom and cleaning supplies. The buckets distributed by DRAW help people take care of themselves and help them salvage what they can of their belongings.

Items on the SS. John and Paul “bucket list” include:
Bucket List: 5 gallon bucket with lid, Sponges with scrub side,. Scrub brush, Handi wipes (reusable cloths, 8-12 count), Liquid laundry detergent (25 or 50 oz. bottle), Household cleaner (12-16oz bottle) no spray bottles, Dish soap, Clothes line (50ft), Microfiber clean rags and Clean cotton rags

Saturday, October 16, 2021
From 9am until 12pm, volunteers will gather to fill 5 gallon buckets with collected supplies at St. Kieran Catholic Church in Shelby Township.
